Carnival Designer: Keisha Collette Thomas

Before leaving for carnival I got the amazing opportunity to interview Keisha Collette Thomas for my L + A. Most recently, Ms.Thomas has launched her simple strings bikini line under the Marie Collette brand and has also designed for Jamaica Carnival! Her creations have found their way all the way to Hollywood and she'll be showcasing her work at Hollywood carnival this June. 

MOROCCO DAY 3- ACCULTURATION

My final day is Morocco was bittersweet. I traveled further through the Medina and visited the Palais Bahia and the Sabian tombs. I also visited the Koutoubia Mosque near Jemaa Al Fna which marks the middle of the square. Along the way there I did some souvenir shopping and bargained with merchants (if you are buying more than one item from the merchants you can usually get them to take off around 10-20 dirhams off the total price....

MOROCCO DAY 2 - EXPLORATION

Today was a sharp contrast to the previous day spent solely in the Medina. I planned for adventure and booked an excursion to the Atlas Mountains and Ourika Waterfalls. As part of the package provided by Marrakech Camel Tours (cost 55 euro) I also visited a traditional Berber house for a tea ceremony and had a 20 minute camel ride in the mountains....

MY FIRST DAY IN MARRAKECH

Morocco is unlike any place I have been to before and it is such a culture shock for me. As soon as I got off the plane I realized I was in for so much more than I expected. The streets in the Medina are busy and full of life with traffic running in both directions and narrow roads full of merchants and donkeys....
