I have been such a busy bee in the past few weeks. Not only am I preparing for my trip to Dubai next week, I had a couple of unmentionable ups and downs, including a bad breakup but it has done nothing but inspired this new post!
DATE YOUR CITY. Yes, your city.
Now that I am solo, I thought why don't I spend some time exploring where I live! As a wanderluster, I love traveling to foreign places spending however many days i'm there trying to see as much as I can see and eat as much as I can eat! (I'm a Taurus and a foodie! #lestruggle) With that being said I figured if i applied the same principle I have with my vacations, I could learn a lot more about New York city and shake the post break up blues. Not only did it work but i also saved money! As a female twenty-something in NYC there a tons of fun things to do for free/moderate cost.
Sites to check for events:
Eventbrite.com- Anyone who has purchased a ticket for a networking event , mixer etc. has probably used Eventbrite. This site is great for confirming events, but ever try searching cool events on it!? Try they have some pretty dope stuff.
Timeout.com- Want to find out what's going on this weekend, in your city for free? TimeOut.com and TimeOut mag let you know whats happening everyday and give you locations, directions, links you to where you can purchase tickets and other details!
Skint.com- What I love about this website is you can subscribe and receive a daily newsletter of events gong on in NYC for the day! Extremely convenient and efficient for New Yorkers when you need a quick rundown of events and direct links to the sites.
Fever Up App- Fever is great for the person who has particular last and wants a list of curated events specifically for them. If you like what you like then download this app to find out what events of your taste are going on in the city.
